スイス国民投票、動物実験禁止案に反対

On Feb. 13, Swiss voters decided not to ban animal experiments in a national referendum.

The vote was overwhelmingly against the proposition— 79% were against the ban, only 21% were for it.

Supporters of the ban wanted to make Switzerland the first country to ban medical and scientific experiments on animals.

However, the ban’s critics — including many drug companies — said it would harm the country’s economy.

2月13日、スイスの有権者は、国民投票により動物実験禁止案を否決した。

投票は議案に対し圧倒的な結果となり、79％が禁止に反対、賛成はわずか21％だった。

賛成派は、スイスを、医学や科学分野での実験で動物の使用を禁止する最初の国にしようと考えていた。

しかし、多くの製薬会社を含む反対派は、この禁止案がスイスの経済に打撃を与えるとしていた。
