G20サミット開幕、冒頭で共同宣言を採択

World leaders of the Group of 20 developed and developing economies adopted a declaration at the start of their summit in South Africa on Nov. 22.

It is unusual to adopt a leaders’ declaration at the start of a G20 summit.

The declaration called for attention on issues affecting poor countries, including climate change-related disasters.

The U.S. boycotted the summit. It says South Africa is persecuting its white minority, known as Afrikaners.

20ヵ国・地域の先進国および新興国の首脳は、11月22日に南アフリカで開幕したサミットの冒頭で宣言を採択した。

G20サミットの冒頭で首脳宣言を採択するのは異例である。

この宣言では、気候変動による災害など、低所得諸国に影響を与えている問題への注意を喚起した。

米国はこのサミットへの参加を拒否した。南アフリカがアフリカーナーと呼ばれている白人の少数派を迫害しているとしているためだ。
