シェインバウム氏、メキシコ初の女性大統領に

Claudia Sheinbaum became the first woman to be elected president of Mexico on June 3.

She won the election with around 60% of the vote, according to an initial count by the country’s electoral authority.

Sheinbaum had the support of her mentor, incumbent Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, who is very popular among the poor.

In Mexico, the president can serve for only one six-year term.
