政府、３月に備蓄米を放出へ

Japan said on Feb. 14 it will release up to 210,000 tons of rice from its emergency stockpile in March.

The government hopes to reduce the soaring price of rice. Prices are rising because of supply problems.

The agriculture ministry said it will first release 150,000 tons of rice.
Another 60,000 tons may be released later, it said.

政府は２月14日、３月に緊急用の備蓄米から最大で21万トンの米を放出すると発表した。

政府はこの措置により、高騰する米の価格が下がることを期待している。

価格が上昇しているのは、供給上の問題があるためだ。

農林水産大臣は、まず15万トンの米を放出し、残りの６万トンはその後放出される可能性があるとしている。
