日本代表、クロアチアに敗れワールドカップ敗退

Japan’s dream run at the World Cup soccer came to an end on Dec. 5 at Qatar’s Al Janoub Stadium.

Japan and Croatia were 1-1 at the end of normal time, but Croatia won the penalty shootout 3-1.

However, Japan national team coach Hajime Moriyasu was positive about his team’s performance at the World Cup.

“They’ve shown our future and the new era by beating former champions Germany and Spain.” he said.

12月5日、カタールのアル・ジャヌーブ・スタジアムで、日本代表がサッカーワールドカップでベスト8へ勝ち上がるという夢が終わった。

日本とクロアチアは、通常の試合時間終了時点で1-1だったが、PK戦を3-1でクロアチアが制した。

しかし、日本代表の森保一監督は、ワールドカップでの選手たちの活躍について、前向きなコメントを出した。

「選手たちは、過去優勝国のドイツとスペインに勝ったことで、我々の未来そして新しい時代を示してくれた」と。
