北京冬季五輪の放映中止を放送局に要請

International human rights groups sent an open letter to some of the world’s major TV broadcasters on Sept. 7 urging them not to cover the Winter Olympics next year in China.

The letter said China planned to use the sporting event to “sport wash” its human rights abuses and embolden the actions of the Chinese authorities.

The human rights groups accuse China of widespread abuse of Uyghurs, Tibetans and Hong Kong residents.

国際人権団体は９月７日、中国で来年開催される北京冬季オリンピックに関して放映しないよう、各国の主要放送局に公開書簡を送った。

書簡によると、中国は冬季五輪を利用して人権侵害をはぐらかし、中国当局の権威増大を図ろうとしているという。

この人権団体は、中国がウイグル、チベット、香港の人々に対して広く虐待を行っていると非難している。
