米軍、アフガニスタンから撤退

The U.S. military pulled its final troops out from Afghanistan on Aug. 30.

The withdrawal from Kabul Airport was sometimes chaotic. Many American troops have died since 2001 in what has become America’s longest war. Hundreds of Americans are still in Afghanistan.

 “There’s a lot of heartbreak associated with this departure. We did not get everybody out that we wanted to get out,” said U.S. Marine Gen. Frank McKenzie.

 Since Aug. 14, more than 122,000 people have been flown out.

8月30日、米軍はアフガニスタンから最後の部隊を撤退させた。

カブール空港からの撤退は、時に混乱をきたした。2001年以来の米国史上最も長い戦争にて大勢の米兵が亡くなった。数百人ものアメリカ人がまだアフガニスタンに残っている。

「出国には多くの心の傷が残った。退避させたいと思っていた全員を脱出させることができなかった」米海兵隊のフランク・マッケンジー海兵隊大将は語った。

8月14日以降、12万2千人以上が飛行機で脱出した。
