Japan aims to let people use their cars as taxis
The government finalized a plan on Dec. 7 to allow drivers with a standard license to offer taxi services, using their own cars as taxis.
According to the plan, individuals without a special license will be able to start driver services as long as they get prior training and are directly employed by taxi companies.
Meanwhile, the government decided on Dec. 20 to partially lift a ban on ride-sharing services in the spring of 2024 on condition that they are run by taxi companies in limited areas within approved time periods.

政府は１２月７日、普通免許を持っている一般のドライバーが自分の車をタクシーとして営業できる計画をまとめた。
