台湾のレストランでパイナップル料理がブームに

Pineapple dishes are everywhere in Taiwan right now. Chefs are creating them to show support for pineapple farmers after China banned Taiwanese pineapple imports on March 1.

After the ban, Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen appealed to people in the island country to eat pineapples.

Many chefs have answered the appeal by creating pineapple dishes. One dish from a Taipei restaurant is pineapple and beef noodle soup, which took about ten tries to get the taste right.

台湾では今、どこでもパイナップル料理があふれている。中国が台湾産パイナップルを３月１日に輸入を停止したことから、飲食店ではパイナップル農家を支援しようとパイナップルを使った新作メニューを作っている。

（中国の）輸入禁止をうけて、台湾の蔡英文総統は、台湾の国民に、パイナップルを食べるように呼び掛けた。

その呼び掛けに、たくさんの料理人がパイナップル料理を考案することで応えた。そのうちの１皿が、台北市のあるレストランが開発したパイナップル入り牛肉麺だ。それは味を調節するために何度も作り直された。
