広島地裁、「黒い雨」裁判で原告を被爆者認定

A Hiroshima District Court made history on July 29, ruling that the city and the prefecture had to give medical benefits to 84 plaintiffs who were exposed to radioactive “black rain.”

The litigants were affected by the rain after the U.S. atomic bomb attack in 1945. The Hiroshima District Court ruled that the plaintiffs be considered “atomic bomb victims,” and that they are entitled to the same medical benefits as other such casualties.

The city and prefecture are appealing the decision.

広島地裁は7月29日、放射能物質を含む「黒い雨」を浴びた84人の原告に医療給付を行う（被爆者手帳を交付する）よう市と県に命じる歴史的な判決を下した。

原告らは米国が1945年に原爆投下後に降った雨によって被爆した。広島地裁は、原告は「被爆者」と見なされると述べ、彼らにも他の被害者（被爆者）と同じ医療給付を得られるべきとした。

広島県と広島市はこの決定に対し控訴している。
