男性の喫煙率、はじめて3割を切る

Fewer Japanese males regularly smoke than ever before, according to a health ministry survey.

The survey found that the country’s smoking rate for males was 28.8% last year, a drop of 2.3 percentage points from the previous survey in 2016.

The female smoking rate fell by 0.7 to 8.8% in the same survey.

The survey is conducted every three years by the Health, Labor and Welfare Ministry.

日常的にたばこを吸う日本人男性の数がこれまでで一番減っていることが、厚生労働省の調査でわかった。

この調査によると、日本の男性喫煙率が昨年28.8%となり、2016年の前回調査から2.3ポイント下がった。

また同調査で、女性の喫煙率は0.7ポイント下がって8.8%になった。

この調査は、厚生労働省により３年ごとに行なわれている。
