How do koalas drink? These scientists say they finally know the answer
How do koalas drink enough water to survive? Scientists in Australia say they have the answer at last.
They observed koalas in the wild at a park in the country’s Victoria state, and saw that koalas lick water running down tree trunks.
This adds to the water they get from their main diet, eucalyptus leaves. Koalas are believed to eat up to about 1,000 grams of leaves every day.
