ドライバーなどへの時間外労働の上限規制開始

Beginning on April 1, drivers of trucks, taxis and buses in Japan will have an overtime limit. The limits are based on changes made to the labor standards law in 2019.

The overtime limit for truck drivers is 360 hours per year, in principle. For construction workers, the annual limit is also set at 360 hours.

However, the change has raised concerns about serious labor shortages.

In the trucking and some industries this possibility is called the “2024 problem”.

４月１日よりトラックやタクシー、バスのドライバーに残業時間の上限規制が始まる。この規制は２０１９年から実施された労働基準法の改正に基づいている。

トラックなどの運転手の場合、時間外労働の上限は原則年３６０時間とされ、建設労働者も同様に、年間３６０時間の上限が適用となる。

しかしながら、これらの規制が深刻な労働力不足につながるのではないかという懸念もある。

トラック運送業をはじめいくつかの業界ではこの（懸念されている）可能性を「2024年問題」と呼んでいる。
