At COP27, UN chief warns Earth on “a highway to hell”
United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said on Nov. 7, “The world is heading toward a climate catastrophe.”
He was speaking at the annual UN climate conference, known as COP27, in Egypt.
“We are on a highway to climate hell with our foot on the accelerator,” he told delegates at the summit.
He urged countries to take a range of measures. They included phasing out the use of coal by 2040.

国連のアントニオ・グテーレス事務総長は11月7日、「世界は気候の破滅的状況に向かっている」と述べた。
