Global leaders promise to end deforestation
More than 100 world leaders promised on Nov. 1 to stop deforestation by 2030.
They made their promise in a joint statement from the COP26 climate talks in Glasgow, Scotland.
The countries say they are committed to conserving, protecting and sustainably managing forests.
They also promise to work to reverse forest loss by 2030.The signatories included Japan, Brazil and Indonesia.

11月1日、100名を超える世界の首脳たちが、2030年までに森林破壊を停止することで合意した。
この合意は、スコットランドのグラスゴーで開催された気候変動枠組条約第26回締約国会議（COP26※）での共同声明でなされた。
各国は、森林を保全し、保護し、持続的に管理することを確約した。
さらにそれぞれの国は2030年までに森林の喪失を回復することも約束した。賛同国には、日本、ブラジル、インドネシアが含まれている。
