男性の育児休暇、取得促進の動き

Japanese fathers will have more choice about taking paternity leave, after the Diet passed a new law on June 3.

The law allows them to take four weeks of leave when they become fathers.

They have to take the leave within eight weeks of their child’s birth, but they can take the leave in two parts if they like.

The law will likely lead to a government program in October 2022.

６月３日、国会で新たな法律が可決成立し、父親の育児休暇取得についてより選択肢が広がることになる。

この法律では、子どもが生まれたら、父親に4週間の休暇を取得することが認められる。

子供の誕生から8週間以内に休暇を取得する必要があるが、必要に応じて2回に分けて取得することが出来る。

この法律は2022年10月に政策として実施される模様。
