自衛隊、秋田でクマ対策支援へ

After attacks by wild bears in the prefecture, Japan’s Ground Self-Defense Force is going to give Akita Prefecture logistic support. The support includes transporting box traps, but the SDF will not hunt bears directly.

The prefecture has faced many sightings and injuries, including deaths. Local officials say they cannot cope with the situation alone.

This support is expected to become a model for other areas.

クマの襲撃が県内で相次いだことを受け、陸上自衛隊は秋田県で後方支援を行うことになった。箱わなの輸送などの支援が行なわれるが、自衛隊はクマの駆除は実施しない。

秋田県ではたくさんのクマが目撃され、死亡も含む人身被害が発生している。地元当局者はこうした現状に自分たちだけで対処することは困難だとしている。

この支援が他地域のモデルケースとなることが期待されている。
