Japanese pianist wins 4th prize at Chopin competition
Shiori Kuwahara from Japan won fourth prize at the 19th International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw, the contest organizers announced Oct. 21.
The 30-year-old pianist performed the assigned pieces powerfully in the final round, drawing applause from the audience.
This marks the second consecutive time a Japanese pianist has won a prize at this prestigious competition, which is held every five years.
