ルーブル美術館で白昼の強盗、宝飾品奪われる

It took just minutes for thieves to steal priceless Napoleonic jewels from the Louvre Museum on Oct. 18.

About 30 minutes after the Paris landmark opened, the thieves got in using a basket lift, and then smashed display cases to steal the jewels. The whole heist took just four minutes, said Culture Minister Rachida Dati.

Louvre workers said they have complained for months that security there was too weak.

10月18日、窃盗犯らがルーブル美術館から貴重なナポレオン時代の宝石を盗むのに、わずか数分しかかからなかった。

ルーブル美術館の開館から約30分後、窃盗犯らはクレーン車を使って館内に入り、展示ケースを壊して宝石を盗んだ。ラシダ・ダティ文化相によれば、犯行時間はわずか４分だったという。

ルーブル美術館の職員たちは、警備が脆弱すぎると、数か月にわたり訴えていたという。
