「自動物流道路」、11月から実証実験開始

Japan’s transport ministry plans to build what it calls “autoflow roads” for freight transportation in the mid-2030s. 

But to prepare, the ministry needs to find out how wide the roads would be.

It will begin trials on a test track from November through February next year to ascertain a suitable road width for the proposed driverless delivery trucks, officials said on July 31. 

Tests on a real highway will begin by fiscal 2027, they said.

国土交通省は、2030年代半ばに「自動物流道路」と呼ばれる貨物専用道路を整備する計画だ。

これを受けて、国土交通省はその道路に拡幅が必要かなどを調査する。

自走式の貨物運搬車両の走行に適合する道路幅を検証するため、国土交通省は今年11月から来年2月にかけてテストコースでの試験を開始する予定であると、7月31日に明らかにした。

実際の高速道路を使った実証試験は、2027年度までに開始される予定とのこと。
