100歳以上の高齢者数が過去最多に

There are a record 86,510 people in Japan aged 100 years or older, health ministry data showed on Sept. 14.

That’s about 6,000 more than the previous year. It’s also the 51 st straight year to see an increase in the number of centenarians, the ministry said.

76,450 of the centenarians were women, and men made up the remaining  10,060 individuals.

9月14日、厚生労働省の発表によると、日本の100歳以上の高齢者数は過去最高の86,510人となった。

これは、前年よりも約6,000人以上多い数字で、省庁発表では51年連続で100歳以上の人が増加しているという。

100歳以上の76,450人は女性で、男性はわずか10,060人だった。
