Police see big jump in investment, romance fraud
There has been a big jump in investment fraud and romance scams via social media so far this year, the National Police Agency said on Oct. 2.
In the January to August period, 6,868 cases of such fraud were reported, the NPA said.T
he number was more than three times the 2,008 cases in the same months last year.
Damage from fraud cases of these types has already amounted tonearly ¥88 billion this year.
