万里の長城を破壊した容疑で２人逮捕

Two construction workers have been arrested for making a path through a section of China’s Great Wall.

The government of Youyu County showed the evidence: a dirt road going through a part of the wall. It is a long way from the section most tourists visit.

The two suspects are a 32-year-old man and a 55-year-old woman. The government said they wanted a shortcut for construction jobs in nearby towns.

建設作業員２名が万里の長城の一部を破壊して通り道を作ったとして逮捕された。

中国の右玉県当局は、万里の長城の一部に作られた通り抜け用泥道を証拠として示した。多くの観光客が訪れる区間からはかなり離れている。

容疑者は32歳の男性と55歳の女性で、当局の発表によれば、彼らは近隣の町で建設工事をしていて近道がほしかったという。
