三浦雄一郎さん(90)、車いすで富士山頂に

Yuichiro Miura is famous for his feats of climbing. He became the oldest alpinist to summit Mount Everest — at ages 70, 75 and 80.

On Aug. 31, he reached the summit of Mount Fuji at age 90. He was in a wheelchair because of recent struggles with his health.

Friends and family helped him reach the top.

At the summit, Miura thanked his companions for their support.

70歳と75歳、そして80歳に世界最高峰エベレストに登頂に成功した世界最高齢登山家として知られる三浦雄一郎さん。

8月31日、今度は90歳で富士山山頂に立った。最近は体調が思わしくなく、車いすを使って登頂した。

友人や家族が三浦氏の登頂を支えた。頂上で三浦さんは、仲間の支援に感謝した。
