シドニーハーバーの周辺でカモメ被害を食い止める訓練犬

Many people visit the waterfront on Sydney Harbour and sit outside to enjoy meals.

But seagulls like to swoop down and pick at people’s food, making outdoor dining an unpleasant experience.

To deal with the problem, patrols of trained dogs are used to help to chase away the birds.

The manager of the Opera Kitchen on the waterfront said there has been a big drop in bird attacks since the patrols started in 2018.

大勢の人がシドニーハーバーを訪れ、外で食事を楽しんでいる。

しかし、屋外での食事は、カモメが急降下して食べ物を狙うため、不愉快な思いをすることが多い。

この問題に対処するため、訓練されたパトロール犬が鳥を追い払うのに役立っている。

ウォーターフロントにある「オペラキッチン」の支配人は、2018年にパトロールが始まって以来、鳥の襲撃が激減したと話している。
