全国各地で熱中症警戒アラート発令

Weather authorities issued heatstroke alerts in 19 prefectures on July 6, as temperatures soared across Japan.

On the same day, the mercury climbed to 38.3 degrees Celsius in Kuwana, Mie Prefecture, according to data from the Japan Meteorological Agency.

The agency said there will be a once-in-a-decade heat wave in mid-July.

This year, Japan saw its hottest June ever, as climate change fuels hotter and longer summers.

７月６日、日本全国で気温が上昇する中、気象当局は19の都県に対し熱中症警戒アラートを発令した。

気象庁のデータによると、同日、三重県桑名市では気温が38.3度に達した。

気象庁は、７月中旬には「10年に一度」の猛暑が発生する可能性があるとしている。

今年の日本では、観測史上最も暑い６月だった。気候変動が、夏の気温を一段と上昇させ長期化させている。
