福井、野生のイルカに注意呼び掛け

Beachgoers should be careful of dolphins in Fukui Prefecture, say coast guard officials.

On Aug. 3, a 10-year-old boy was bitten by a dolphin while swimming at a beach in the city of Tsuruga, according to the Tsuruga Coast Guard.

Five people were hurt by dolphins in 2023, and at least 18 so far this year, they said.

The coast guard has put up signs on beaches to raise awareness of the danger.

海水浴客はイルカに注意する必要があると福井県で海上保安部が警告している。

敦賀海上保安部によると、8月3日には、敦賀市の海水浴場で10歳の少年が泳いでいたところ、イルカに噛まれたという。

2023年には5人がイルカに噛まれ、今年はこれまでに少なくとも18人が負傷したという。

海上保安部は、危険を知らせるための看板を海水浴場に設置した。
