Travelers flock to train stations and airports as Golden Week begins
As Golden Week began, temperatures rose above 25 degrees Celsius in many parts of Japan.
On April 28, the second day of the 10-day holiday period, the temperature in the city of Kyoto hit 30 C.
Around 23.3 million were expected to travel in Japan during Golden Week, according to JTB, a travel agency.
That figure is about 90% of pre-pandemic levels.
