石川県でマグニチュード7.6の大地震

A huge 7.6 magnitude earthquake hit the Noto Peninsula in Ishikawa Prefecture on New Year’s Day.

At least 48 people were found dead as rescuers pulled bodies from collapsed buildings, local authorities said on Jan. 2.

Tens of thousands of homes lost power.

Waves of about a meter high appeared along the coast.

The Fire and Disaster Management Agency said over 97,000 people were told to evacuate.

元日に石川県能登半島をマグニチュード7.6の巨大地震が襲った。

地元当局は１月２日、崩壊した建物を捜索する中で、少なくとも48名の遺体が見つかったと発表した。

数万戸が停電した。

海岸沿いには約１メートルの高さの津波が押し寄せた。

総務省消防庁は、９万7,000人以上に避難勧告が出されたと伝えている。
