中3の英語スピーキングテスト、正答率12%

Japan’s third-year junior high students were able to answer only 12.4% of questions correctly on average in an English-speaking test, the education ministry said on July 31.

The tests were taken in April for national assessments. The average was 18.4 percentage points down from 2019, before the pandemic.

Some experts say the curriculum is too difficult for students.

文部科学省は7月31日、中学3年生の英語スピーキングテストの平均正答率がわずか12.4％だった、と公表した。

このテストは全国学力調査のため４月に実施された。（英語「話す」テストの）平均正答率は新型コロナウイルスが感染拡大する前に実施された2019年の調査を18.4ポイント下回った。

一部の専門家は生徒にとってカリキュラムが難しすぎると指摘している。
