Almost 2 in 3 in Japan support same-sex marriage
A Kyodo News poll found that 64 percent of people support recognizing same-sex marriage in Japan.
Same-sex marriages are not legally acknowledged in Japan.
The poll was conducted over three days from Feb. 11 by telephone. The results were published on Feb. 13.
The poll is at odds with the government’s conservative stance on LGBTQ* issues.
