Miyagi Prefecture to allow leave to care for grandchildren
Miyagi Prefecture will let government workers apply for leave to take care of their grandchildren.
The new child care leave scheme is expected to start in January, 2023.
Miyagi will be the first prefecture to offer such leave.
The prefectural government expects that over time, the number of government workers applying for the leave will increase.
