Mount Fuji to close because of coronavirus
All four routes to Mount Fuji will be closed over the summer season because of coronavirus fears.
Shizuoka Prefecture announced on May 18 that it would keep its three routes to the mountain closed for this year’s summer climbing season. Officials said they were worried about the risk of infection on the paths and cabins.
Yamanashi Prefecture has already decided that they will close the most popular route, the Yoshida trail.
