Asada, Takahashi to skate at Sochi

They didn’t perform well at the national championships in December, but Mao Asada and Daisuke Takahashi will be heading to the Sochi Olympics. The former Olympic medalists failed to win at the nationals on Dec. 23. Asada finished third overall and Takahashi fifth. Still, the Japan Skating Federation included them on the national team to contest at Sochi in February.

スケートの浅田、高橋がソチ五輪出場へ

12月のフィギュアスケート全日本選手権では不調だった浅田真央と高橋大輔だが、ソチ五輪へ出場することになった。前オリンピックメダリストの２人は12月23日の国内大会で優勝を逃し、浅田は総合３位、高橋は５位に終わった。それにもかかわらず、日本スケート連盟は２人を２月のソチ五輪のフィギュアスケート日本代表選手に加えた。
