Daiya Seto won gold at the world swimming championships  in Barcelona, Spain, in the men’s 400-meter individual  medley on Aug. 4. The 19-year-old became the first Japanese to win the individual medley at either the world championships or the Olympic Games. Seto said that he was more than pleased with his performance, a personal best.

瀬戸大也選手は８月４日、スペイン・バルセロナで行なわれた世界水泳選手権で、男子400メートル個人メドレーで金メダルを獲得した。瀬戸（１９）は世界大会やオリンピックにおいて、個人メドレーで金メダルを獲得した最初の日本人選手となった。瀬戸は自己ベストを達成した彼自身のパフォーマンスに大満足、と語った。
